Health and safety policy

From our Board of Directors, through our factory to installation teams on site we are dedicated to a consistent and proactive approach to safety.

All activities are carried out with regard to the health, safety & welfare of all its employees, contractors, subcontractors and anyone who interfaces with our activities.

The Board are responsible for ensuring that adequate information, instructions and supervision are made available to every employee to ensure compliance with both the requirements and the spirit of the Health & Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and all regulations and approved codes of practice made under this Act.

Key Achievements

  • Ongoing communication campaign through notice boards and daily ‘toolbox' talks to ensure all employees are kept informed and up to date.
  • Portakabin accident incident rate for RIDDOR is 33% less than the average for the Construction industry.
  • Safety competitions run each year, one for the production operation at York and one for the Portakabin Hire Centre network. Each prize of £750 is donated to a charity of the winning team's choice.
  • Recently launched Aim for zero Campaign to focus on the behaviours required to achieve zero incidents and accidents.
  • The frequency of working at height when handling buildings has been reduced via our patented low level lifting system (Patent number GB2408494)
  • All site and fitting out operatives have been trained in working at height and on how to ensure rescue before the onset of suspension trauma.

Goals for Next Year

  • Continued implementation of Aim for Zero.
  •  Strive for better year on year safety performance across the Group.
